Have you ever heard of someone quitting a job at bangalore and coming to chennai in the month of april to join another?
Hello, meet me. When everyone rushes to cool elevated spots to escape the prongs of our supreme power, the sun, I came to chennai from Bangalore.
Now pls dont think I like being different and getting involved in and experimenting new stuff. I am not. I am an ordinary gal from madurai, having completed Engineering at madurai Thiagarajar college of engineering and passing out as one among the toppers(can't help showing off :) )and 2 years and 5 months with Infosys finally landed up with TCS Chennai.
After landing bag and baggage at Tambaram bus stand from the so comfortable and cool KPN A/C volvo at 9 PM, I had the confusion whether its still afternoon with the darkness clouded. Laptop sliding at one end, backpack weighing me down and a bigg trolley to roll over, I was cursing myself to have packed a lot.(Actually, I didnt pack half the things I thought of initially).
Autowallas greeted me with the very famous chennai tamil asking me where to go. Somehow managed to reach my uncle's place.
I never thought 6 AM would be so hot. I was bathing, no rather soaking the entire day in perspiration. Had to go to TCS office to do some pre joining formalities. Joined TCS the next day at Sholinganallur.
It was a warm welcome after the hot start at chennai. Second day of induction was going on smooth till they announced me to go to Chennai one office at thoraipakkam.
People always wanted me to get me out of my comfort zone. :( Had to step out in the hot sun and went in search of thoraipakkam.
Was it left/right from Sholinganallur? How far from here? No clue at all. Found someone from my batch planning to go there and joined them. Reached there finally and to my dismay, they asked me to go to Siruseri. Again left clueless and set off to Siruseri.
Actually I was looking forward to see the much hyped 'butterfly building' of TCS. My first impression(and still remains :P) was that it resembles a big stadium.
I felt like a bull fighter (Imagine a innocent meek one :) ) waiting for a raging bull to pounce on me. With my cell phone connectivity nil, I was left there helpless, trying to find the person I was supposed to meet that day.
Then met up finally, got into a project and got settled here in TCS. Life is going on smooth. The unbearable heat has become rather bearable now. With Mr.Rain visiting once in a while, it is ok now.
Glad to share my first blog. Hope you got to know little abt me.
Comments and suggestions are most welcome. :)
Thanks for ur tym.
Innocent meek bull fighter! That summed it all up rather well! :) Chennai and TCS are definitely not for the meek of heart - but if you are ready to make the plunge, you are sure to emerge as one capable of bull fighting and much beyond!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Bull Arena :)
