Super Swiggy

After becoming a super mom to a handsome boy, I have added some responsibilities and deleted some. Cooking stands first in the deletion first. I am a very slow cook and nowadays couldn’t bring myself to concentrate to cook. My ever affectionate husband has taken it to his role now. (No,not as a cook as you think) he has brought down his expectation of food(Taste obviously) at home and has ordered food many times online to satisfy our hunger prangs.

Since there are many sites to order food online, we got baffled at first. Swiggy came to our rescue. The UI is very good and there are many restaurant options for us to choose from.
Booking and delivery is something to be commented upon. Once the booking is done, they actually send their delivery guys to the restaurant, wait for the food to get packed and bring it home. All these happen with constant updates in our phones.

I literally got amazed for the first time we ordered. We had ordered food from Paranthas and Dosas for breakfast. The usual message of a delivery person assigned popped in my cell. But unusually I got frequent messages regularly from that number informing me where he is and when will he deliver. At the restaurant it seemed the food we ordered got over. So he called and asked us what we want and even suggested something of the same price.

Every time we order , we get them delivered by very polite people with a ready smile enough to charm my little boy. Should really comment on the discounts too. They have a good amount of deals which helped us order often without rethinking on the budget. The last time, we were even given plastic cutlery which were really good and elegant.

I have and would recommend Swiggy to all busy ( and Lazy) people out there to order food from this site.

So people, when hungry think of Super Swiggy. J

Julie and Julia and Jeba – Part 2

I got something Julie and Julia dreamt of but didn’t have – A baby.

After I shared the blog Julie and Julia and Jeba, I was wondering what to do next, my pregnancy got confirmed. The way I confirmed my pregnancy is a tale worth telling. After having read about the pregnancy symptoms a thousand times a day, I felt bad when I couldn’t feel even one. So everyday or I should say almost 3 times a day I checked with a pregnancy test kit till I went to a gyno and heard my baby’s heart beats. It was an unexplainable feeling. Tears started rolling and my joy knew no bounds when I heard the amplified heart beats of my baby.

A while later my pregnancy symptoms started to appear. I was one of the lucky few ones not to have vomiting during pregnancy. But did I consider myself lucky? No. I started alarming. This time my husband accompanied me for worrying. He too wanted to see me vomit. LOL. I had actually vomited only thrice in the whole of my pregnancy. Each time my hubby would have a full smile on his face.
Slowly tummy began to show. Another hilarious account. My tummy was not that big. So again I started alarming. During my 5th month check up the nurse asked me the reason to meet the doc. I said I was 5 months carrying. She apologised and said I didn’t look like one. I had many such so called alarming moments till my 6th month. My baby then started assuring me with his kicks day and night.
Hither and Wither my journey throughout pregnancy was smooth and by God’s grace a handsome charming prince was born to me on 14th Nov.

Along with my boy was born Jeba v2.0. LOL

I never thought in my whole life I would have to finish a meal in 5 mins and I can afford to sleep soundly for only 3 hrs a day.

His crying got reduced month on month, he controlled his neck better, rolled over, spine got straight and sat up, started to crawl and now started standing. He is ten months now.
As I look in the mirror, a tired , puffy eyed female with a bit of (no, whole lot of) untidy hair who has forgotten again to take bath and smells of all flavours of Nestle Cerelac starts back at me. Hey that’s me. Version 2.0. Updates – Motherly responsibilities without sleep. But enjoying it to the core.

If this continues, my son will start to mock me as he grows up So have decided to groom myself better. Lets see if I get to do this properly.

Not much reason to blog now. Just thought of sharing my updates in black and white. Thanks for reading.

Julie and Julia and Jeba

Movies and life are becoming inseparable now. I am no exception. I am on the path to becoming a big movie buff in the fast lane. :) I often stay late and watch movies as if there’s no tomorrow. I love watching all genre of movies, my favorite being animation movies, thrillers, mysteries and topping the list is “girly girly” movies. The way you feel after watching a “girly” movie is unexplainable. I am sure all the girls would approve of me and as for guys, you can relate it to the way you feel after watching a Will Smith movie. LOL.

The Women, Legally Blonde series, Sweet Home Alabama, Sex and the City series, Bridal wars, Confessions of a Shopaholic, the list goes on. The recent addition to my favorite list is Julie and Julia. I watched this movie in Z Studio a couple of weeks back and got completely smitten. The movie is about two women in different timelines sharing the same passion of cooking and the latest being so much inspired by the historic one. Both struggling in the beginning to pursue their passion, manage through all odds and gets a happy ending. Julia was put up somewhere around 60’s while Julie is contemporary.

I was so much into the character of Julie that I was feeling myself in her shoes throughout the movie. She plays the part of a woman not knowing what she really wants, ends up in a job which she really hates. She aspires to be a writer but couldn’t pursue the same because of her easily giving up and procrastinating character. Finally with the idea from her better half, she starts a food blog. She determines to try over 400 recipes of Julia Child, who was a very famous cook in her days, in a year.

After successfully enduring many hurdles that came across her, she completes what she planned for. Throughout this journey, she learns more about her relationships, her priorities and much more. Finally her efforts get paid for. Since she managed to cook various forgotten recipes and demonstrate it very artistically, she gets book contracts, positions as food critic at various magazines and TV shows. She gets what she ever dreamt of.

A perfect ending to a lovely dream. Since I have been working on a novel for almost 2 years with repeated change of plots and not much updates, I very much related myself to her and started to dream. I too love experimenting different cuisines, though of course it has been just tasting them so far and not preparing it. :) :) :) The idea of getting inspired by something and giving full efforts to achieve a goal in the path we love really moved me.Setting such a goal has been difficult so far and am working on it. Once it is ready I am ready to rock guys.

I don’t know whether I will get famous or book contracts or a job like Anton Ego in “Ratatouille” but it will definitely get me excited for the coming days and something new to do and look forward for feedback. Who knows I may even get a stunning plot for my novel. A different adventure, the adrenalin rush, it’s all so exciting and I am in.

Wish me luck friends and yourselves too at that since it is going to be continuous segment for a while and we may be crossing paths often. :P

Tipu Sultan and Adil Shah Coin
This hobby that I started playfully has helped me learn a lot. Whenever I get a commemorative coin I cannot relax till I ‘googled’ a bit about the person or the event remembered on. It is very refreshing too. Whenever i feel down, I used to go through this collection of mine and give myself excellent self appraisal comments. It has been my motivation to learn more and more and a bit of self satisfaction that I am carrying some knowledge from present to the future. :)
